Monster Island, The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster that was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of Monsters, is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


The budget for an asylum movie is approximately the same as that of a big kid's lunch. It makes good use of it by focusing only on a few people and keeping its major stars in one set so all their sequences can still be recorded during lunch. However, let (link here) us not forget that this is the kaiju genre, and well... that is sort of how they go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with it?
